Mobile Mindfulness Based Smoking Cessation

The primary aim of this project is to develop a mindfulness-based smoking cessation program delivered to smokers on their smartphone devices (Android/iPhone). This program is based on the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction program tailored for smoking cessation.

Screening Assessment and Resources

The primary aim of this project was to design, develop, and evaluate a substance use and related risk behaviors screening and assessment system for providers and patients in healthcare service settings. This system included web-based delivery of substance use risk assessments to patients and web-based delivery of the collected assessment data reports for providers based on this data.

A Daily Client Check-In System for Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment

The primary aim of this project was to develop a phone-based interactive voice response system designed to obtain client report information between weekly substance abuse treatment sessions regarding mood, cravings, substance use, and involvement in recovery support activities. The system was designed to generate a brief, one-page weekly summary report to assist clinicians in assessing client needs and tailoring treatment services.

Mobile App Targeting Meth Use, HIV Sex Risks, & ART Adherence for Gay/Bisexual Men

The primary aim of this project was to conduct formative work to assist in the development of a culturally competent and consumer responsive computerized app for gay/bisexual methamphetamine-using men. This app was designed to reduce methamphetamine use and HIV sexual risk behaviors and to increase antiretroviral therapy (ART) medication adherence.

MedCheck – Medication Adherence System

The primary aim of this project was to develop and evaluate a comprehensive and interactive medication adherence support system for patients and their providers. This system included a web- and mobile-based support system that integrated content delivery and real-time data collection to motivate patients to adhere to their medication treatment plans. Moreover, the system was designed to facilitate ongoing monitoring and communication between patients and providers in-between office visits.
